2007 Tri State Dance Challenge

The Tri-State Dance Challenge, held March 16-18, 2007, at the Stamford Marriott, in Stamford, CT, was a brilliant success this year, despite challenges an unexpected snowfall brought to competition organizers David and Esther Don.

“It snowed all day Friday, and by evening, all the airports had closed,” said Don. “The roads were ghastly. Who would ever imagine that so near Spring, a Northeastern Storm would blow in!”

Nevertheless, the competition went on, albeit amidst some very creative rescheduling of heats. Even Professional Dancer Russell Jackson jumped in to perform completely improvised and unrehearsed dance sequences for some of the Friday night's entertainment.

“It was wonderful,” Don said. “The audience loved it.”
