Record entries for the International Megastars Dance Festival fuels fledgling event to one of the premier competitions on the Australian and International DanceSport calendars.
2007 New Zealand DanceSport Championships
I love returning to the country of my birth for any reason and to adjudicate at this event is very high up my list of preferences. It was very evident to me that this event is going from strength to strength on a yearly basis and that DanceSport is very healthy in the "Land of the Long White Cloud" both administratively and in competitor numbers and enthusiasm.
2007 National Capital DanceSport Championships
The 2007 event will go down in the record books as one that attracted entries from all of those parts of the Southern Hemisphere, as well as some couples from China for the first time; they were to make a long lasting impression on all in attendance.
2006 Tattersall's Australian Dancesport Championships
For many years now the Australian DanceSport Championships held in Melbourne, Victoria, on the second weekend in December has been the biggest event on the Australian DanceSport calendar and as such couples with a desire to win one of the coveted titles on offer over the duration of the championships have flocked to Melbourne to participate. The 2006 National Capital DanceSport Championship
From the most humble of beginnings this event has grown in fourteen short years to become the second biggest event in the Australian DanceSport Calendar. Starting out as a simple one day event in a suburban Canberra hall this event now encompasses all DanceSport styles offered here in Australia, covering all ages and grades.
2005 Tattersall's Australian Dancesport Championship
It was World Champions everywhere at the 2005 Tattersall's Australian DanceSport Championships with newly crowned World Professional Champions Mirko Gozzoli & Alessia Betti as special guests, demonstrating cabaret stars on both nights of these championships, and Joanne Wilkinson, who hails from South Australia competing here with her Italian born partner, Riccardo Cocchi, in the IDSF International Latin Championship hot on the heels of their recent IDSF World Latin Championship success. World Super Stars and Gold Coast Championships 2005
For those who may not know the Gold Coast of Queensland is Australia's skyscraper capital with more high rise buildings here than in any other city in Australia. Micky & Momo Kezuka with the assistance of Robert (Bob) Steele as Championship Administrative Director, who in turn was assisted by wife Leigh, have indeed lived up to the "Reach for the Sky Theme" of this city when presenting the 2005 version of their World Super Stars event over the weekend of the 20th & 21st August on the Gold Coast. Whilst this event is still in its infancy it is already setting a benchmark for others to attain.
